Our free function room at the White Swan Inn is ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, wakes, meetings and more. It’s a cosy, flexible space that we can set up to suit your occasion.

As a guide, we can usually host around 20–30 guests seated or up to around 40 people for a more informal, standing-style gathering. For larger events in the summer, we can make use of our spacious beer garden and outside bar.

We offer buffet options, set menus and tailored food packages – from hearty pub classics to lighter bites. Let us know in the booking form what you have in mind, including approximate numbers, timings and any dietary requirements, and we’ll get in touch to discuss the best options.

If you’re planning a wake or more sensitive gathering, we’ll work with you to create the right atmosphere and refreshments.

Sunday lunch at the White Swan Inn is very popular, especially between 12:30 and 15:00. We strongly recommend booking in advance for Sundays, bank holidays and on evenings when we have live music, quiz nights or other events.

If you’re thinking of visiting at a peak time and the online form shows your preferred slot as unavailable, please give us a call on 01909 776788 – we may still be able to fit you in or suggest an alternative time.

You can explore our roasts and other dishes on the Food Menu page, and check our Events page for upcoming busy nights.

QuestionAnswer
Do I need to pay a deposit? For most small table bookings we don’t usually ask for a deposit. For larger groups of 6 people or more there is a £20 deposit. For private functions, we may request a deposit or pre-order – we’ll confirm this when we respond to your enquiry.
How far in advance should I book? For weekends, Sunday lunch and special events, we recommend booking at least a few days in advance. For larger parties or wakes, please contact us as early as you can so we can hold your preferred date.
Missed BookingsPlease be aware that we do hold tables for 30 minutes to cater for late arrivals.
Are children welcome?Yes, we are a family-friendly pub. Children are welcome in the restaurant and appropriate areas of the bar when accompanied by an adult. Please let us know if you need a high chair or space for a pushchair.
Can I bring my dog?Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar and beer garden, but not usually in the main restaurant. If you’re unsure where is best to sit, just mention it in your booking request and we’ll advise.
Can I bring a birthday cake or decorations?Yes, you’re welcome to bring a cake and simple decorations such as balloons or table confetti. Please avoid anything that might damage walls or furnishings, and let us know in advance so we can be ready.
Is the pub accessible? We are a historic building, but we do our best to accommodate guests with mobility needs. There is one step to enter the building and key areas and accessible facilities; if you have specific requirements, please add details to your booking form or call us to chat it through.
